Happy Birthday America!

We celebrated our nation’s independence with (french) burgers and (french) beer.

Burger from A La Francaise

Tastes like freedom…. and surrender. It’s confusing.

It turns out France does not observe the 4th of July. But they do make some damn tasty burgers. I’m not sure how you’re supposed to eat this one; the bottom bun is fried shredded potatoes stewing in tomato gravy. I used a fork and knife. Please do not revoke passport.

We also went to the Foundaton Louis Vuitton, which it turns out is just an awesome museum. We finally saw that scream painting that people get so excited about (NB: underwhelming), plus a bunch of more awesome things; photos forthcoming.

The museum is also next to the Jardin d’Acclimatation, where we met this lover of freedom:

Sorry donkey, you should have been born in America!
